First of all i would like to thank you, the men & women of your Department for what they do every day and especially would like to thank them for
their heroic efforts Tuesday in saving the lives of the people & the extra effort for saving the lives of the weary pets.
I especially would like to thank the 2 firefighters that went back in to retrieve the Ferrets. The smaller victims of fires that many times are lost. Bless you-from the bottom of my & so many others peoples hearts for saving their lives.

Pops was on the scene of the Cocoanut Grove fire in 1942; the author's father served with distinction until an explosion blew him from a third-story window; and two of the author's brothers had their career goals thwarted by a court order integrating the Boston fire department. One became a cop, the other a rescue man with an elite squad sent to Ground Zero after the collapse of the World Trade Center. My brother-in-law William Cochran passed away on April 11th and I want to thank the Cambridge Fire Department for an outstanding most heartwarming and surreal display of brotherhood expressed on April 15th at the funeral. It was most touching to see them men lined up at attention as well as the hook and ladder fully extended with the largest American flag possible. Firefighters are truely a brotherhood and this certainly proved it.
Thank you again for making such a sad situation and memorable one with such a large turnout of brothers.
